SENIOR INTERCLUB CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to the South Head 1 team who are the North Harbour Golf 2023 Senior Interclub Champions.

Topping their division in pool play South Head earned a semi-final against 2022 champions Pupuke 2. In a tight tussle South Head won through to the final by the slimmest 36.5 - 35.5 margin.

South Head faced Helensville in the final at Muriwai Golf Course on Monday 19th June. In glorious weather South Head proved too strong and claimed the trophy with a 40.5 - 31.5 victory.

This is the third time South Head has won the Senior Interclub in the last four years the event has been contested (2019, 2021 & 2023).

Congratulations to the players on the day - Lenny Faber, David Akeroyd, Rangi Lemon and Grant Scott - along with other playing squad members Steve Williams, Derek Larkins, Robin Williams and Marty Heke. Special mention to team manager Robin (Razor?) Williams who expertly orchestrated yet another winning season.

NEW COURSE RECORD - MEN'S CLUB TEES

Massive congratulations to South Head Member Haki Heke for shooting an amazing 64 off the white tees on Sunday 3rd January 2021. This breaks the old record of 66 by two clear strokes. Haki scored 34 on the front nine after an early bogey on the 2nd hole was well and truly wiped away by birdies on the 5th, 6th, 8th and 9th holes. Haki then blitzed the back nine in 30 strokes with four straight birdies on 11, 12, 13 and 14 before capping the round off in style with an eagle on 17 and a safely navigated par on 18.
